Ben W Alexander, a devoted pastor and a cherished figure in his community, passed away on May 31, 2026. Born on November 2, 1933, Ben's life was marked by steadfast faith, wisdom, and a remarkable sense of humor that touched all who knew him.
Born in Hartwell GA, to the late Will Alexander and Sally Grace Winters Alexander. He completed 11 years of schooling, before being drafted to the army. He was installed in Fort Jackson and served his required two years. He was released with an honorable discharge. After being discharged, he worked for Mayfair Mill, in Easley SC, for over 20 years, and where he retired from.
For 34 years, Ben faithfully pastored at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where he was known not only for his spiritual leadership but also for his ability to uplift and inspire through his humorous and insightful sermons. His dedication to his congregation and his unwavering commitment to his faith left an indelible impact on many lives.
Ben Alexander will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Estoria (Maurice) Killingsworth of Piedmont, SC; his siblings Robert Alexander of Greenville, South Carolina, and Sonny Alexander of Easley, South Carolina; and his special nephew and son figure, Jesse (Lucky) Williams. He was further blessed with two beautiful granddaughters, Alacyea and Skylar Killingsworth, who brought joy to his later years. He is also missed by his nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his three brothers, Guy, Alvin, Rubin Alexander, and one sister Sarah Robinson, whose memories he cherished deeply.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 5, from 1-3 PM, at the Cremation Society of SC - Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Rd, Greenville, SC 29611.
Ben W Alexander’s legacy endures in the hearts of those he served and loved. His faith-filled life, combined with his warmth and wisdom, leaves a lasting example of devotion and kindness. The community and family invite all who knew him to gather in remembrance and celebration of a life well-lived.
