Beverly "Bev" Haas Lindgren

Bev Lindgren, age 88, widow of the late Richard "Dick" Lindgren, died December 21, 2024 

Born in Akron, Ohio to the late Dorothy (Barnett) and Aubrey Haas. She was the eldest and last surviving of their 3 children. Bev was raised in Grand Rapids, MI and later returned to Akron where she met and married Dick Lindgren in 1963. They moved to Columbus where they lived for 32 years before moving to Greenville, SC in 1994 when Pan-Western Life Insurance where Bev had worked for 14 years was purchased by Liberty Insurance. They always said they wanted to move south in retirement and this got them there. She retired from Liberty Insurance Services five years later. 

After Dick died in 2003, Bev worked part-time at SCTelco FCU until finally retiring in 2017 at age 81. She was an active member & elder of St. Giles Presbyterian Church where she served on the Worship committee, sang in the choir and held positions as disbursing and receiving treasurer at various times. She loved working with numbers and never wanted to be even a penny off. 

Bev loved to bowl and she and Dick were active square dancers in Columbus. Bev continued dancing in Taylors for several years. She volunteered at United Ministries and in Ohio volunteered for 8 years with Suicide Prevention. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by their 2 sons, Mike (Pam) Lindgren of Greenville; Doug (Darla) Lindgren; granddaughter, Kaia Lindgren (Mayan Shah), all of Greer; step-daughter, Karen Jackson (Joe) of Columbus, OH and step-sons, Steve (Jean) Lindgren of Akron, OH; Dick (Diane) Lindgren of Akron. She is also survived by 7 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great grandchildren. 

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Susan Haas and brother, Russell Haas. 

A celebration of Bev's life will be held at St. Giles on Hudson Road on January 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Bev loved bright colors and requested that you come dressed accordingly for the celebration. Please continue the celebration with the family in the fellowship hall following the service.
