Billy A. Pitts, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. Born on March 28, 1958, in Pickens, South Carolina, Billy lived a life that was filled with compassion, hard work, and dedication.
Billy proudly retired from the Galvanizer Steel Company, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. His contributions during his time with the company were invaluable, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues.
Outside of his professional life, Billy had a wealth of interests that reflected his zest for life. He found joy in fishing, where he would often spend tranquil hours by the water, embracing the calmness of nature. Gardening was another of his passions, allowing him to nurture life and cultivate beauty in his surroundings. Additionally, he took great pleasure in raising chickens, which not only provided sustenance but also brought joy and laughter to his homestead.
Billy is survived by his loving companion, Kathy Peterson, who stood by his side through life's many journeys. He leaves behind his sisters, Joyce Ulsary and Marsha Willis, who will forever cherish the treasured memories they shared. Billy is also survived by his stepchildren, Ray Peterson (Kitty) and Rena Hudson (Vernon), along with five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
