She was a devoted mother to her children, Robert Godfrey and his wife Julia, Stacy Carlton, and Rodney Godfrey. Kay's role as a grandmother was one she cherished deeply, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and joy in her grandchildren, Kaylin Babb, Matthew J.T. Babb, Austin Reece, and Isaac Godfrey. Her great-granddaughters, Mattie Lee Babb and Annabelle Reece, were a source of immense pride and happiness. Brenda was a sister, guide, and friend to her sisters: Star Mosley, Linda Sneed, Robin Miller, and Williene Swafford, and brother Steve Griffin, and was predeceased by two siblings: Denny Griffin and Jan Hughes. Her numerous nieces and nephews also held a special place in her heart.
