Brenda Marie McDowell, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Born on September 26, 1948, in Laurens, South Carolina, she spent her life spreading joy and wherever she went.

Brenda dedicated herself to her craft as a cake decorator for 20 years, creating beautiful and delicious works of art that brought smiles to many. She later shifted her focus and spent her final years as a stocker at Walmart, where her kind demeanor and lively spirit made her a treasured member of the community. Those who knew Brenda recognized her as a loving, funny, intelligent, handy, and creative individual whose warmth resonated with friends and family alike.

Brenda found joy in a multitude of hobbies. Whether she was coloring and drawing, diving into word search puzzles, baking sweet treats, or sewing, she approached each activity with passion and enthusiasm. Her love for the outdoors often led her to explore nature, where she found peace and inspiration.

Brenda is survived by her loving brother, Steven Trammel (Melva), her daughters, Melissa Dixon (Steven) and Amanda Hurley, along with five treasured grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The bonds she shared with her family were a source of immense pride and joy, and they will carry her spirit with them throughout their lives.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Betty Trammel, and her beloved husband, Phillip McDowell. Brenda's legacy of love and creativity will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
