Brenda B. Rochester

Taylors, SC

Brenda B. Rochester, a beacon of kindness and gentleness, passed away on April 28, 2025, at the age of 81, in her hometown of Taylors, SC, where she was also born on October 9, 1943. Brenda, known for her friendly demeanor and skilled hands, was a cherished member of the Taylors community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Brenda was the beloved daughter of the late Audrey and Clinton Brown and grew up surrounded by the love of her siblings, Bonnie and Robin, who preceded her in death, and her brother Vic Brown, who remains to honor her memory along with his wife, Pat. Brenda's legacy continues through her devoted daughter, Lisa Porter, whose husband Keith has passed away, and her adored granddaughters, Ashlyn and Kaleigh Porter. Her nieces, Vicki Robbs, Kristi Harris, Gloria Brendle, and nephew, Kevin Devine, also survive her, each carrying a piece of her kind spirit forward.

A proud graduate of the first class of Wade Hampton High School, Brenda furthered her education at a business school, where she honed the skills that would serve her well throughout her life. For five decades, Brenda worked as a seamstress, a vocation that not only showcased her incredible talent but also her dedication and work ethic. Her contributions to the craft were not just in the beautiful garments she created but also in the warmth and care she stitched into every piece.

Brenda's interests extended beyond her professional life into simple pleasures that brought joy to her and those around her. She had a passion for sewing, not just as a job but as a form of expression and creativity. Her love for word search puzzles reflected her sharp mind and patience, while her enthusiasm for game shows was a testament to her playful spirit and love for a good challenge.

Those who knew Brenda would describe her as the epitome of kindness. She approached life with a gentle touch and a friendly smile, always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand. Her presence was a comfort to many, and her absence will be felt deeply by her family, friends, and the community she so lovingly served.

Brenda's life was a tapestry of love, hard work, and dedication to her family and passions. As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we celebrate the enduring impact she has left on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Brenda B. Rochester's memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories, lessons, and love she shared with each of us.

A special thanks to Interim Hospice for all the love and care.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
