Carl Britton Wirt Jr., known as "Britt," to his friends and family, passed away on May 26, 2025, in Simpsonville, South Carolina with his family by his side. Born on February 24, 1943, in Miami, Florida, Britt's life was marked by his unwavering kindness, sharp wit, and remarkable intelligence.

Britt's journey began as the cherished son of the late CB Jack Wirt and Etta Mae Arthur. His formative years in Miami laid the foundation for a life full of achievement and joy. Britt's academic pursuits culminated in earning a Doctorate of Juris Prudence from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, Ga., a testament to his intellectual prowess and dedication.

A proud veteran of the Army, Britt served his country with honor and distinction as a Green Beret. Britt had a successful career as an Insurance Executive with American Security Group in Atlanta. His professional life was characterized by the same integrity and commitment he displayed in every aspect of his life.

Beyond his professional and military service, Britt was an avid knife collector. His adventurous spirit soared as he took to the skies with his pilot's license, flying for fun and embracing the freedom of the open air. Yet, it was the simple pleasures of spending time with his family and enjoying dinners out that truly filled his heart with happiness.

Britt's legacy is lovingly carried on by his devoted wife of 25 years, Virginia Ulmer Wirt, and his children, Christine Carter(Frank) of Georgia, Kathryn Grahn(Gary) of Easley, Carl Wirt(Tracy) of Texas, Joelle Dalby(Matthew) of Simpsonville, and by Terry Baptist of Florida. Britt loved and cherished his nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who will miss his presence immensely.

Britt’s kind nature, sense of humor, and intelligence made him an irreplaceable presence in the lives of his family and friends. As we bid farewell to Carl Britton Wirt Jr., we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, service, and the joy of everyday moments. His spirit will forever remain a guiding force for those who were fortunate enough to know him
