Carole Reisbig, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, in Greenville, South Carolina, at the age of 82.
Born on April 6, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, Carole developed a love for dance, music, and art early in life—passions that became integral to the fabric of her life. Carole’s love for the performing arts led her to inspire generations through her work as a dedicated dance instructor. She was the proud owner of Portland Academy of Dance in Portland, Michigan, where she not only taught dance but instilled in her students the values of grace, discipline, and self- expression. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she taught and mentored.
Carole also loved music and loved playing the piano. She also enjoyed sewing and knitting, creating cherished clothing and blankets for her family.
Above all, Carole treasured her family. Some of her happiest memories were made during annual camping trips to northern Michigan, where she found joy in simple moments — campfires, laughter, and being surrounded by the people she loved most.
Carole is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Reisbig; her daughter, Lynette Greenway; her son, Erik Reisbig (Sarah); her brother, Russell Yuhas; nephews Jason Yuhas (Amy) and Joshua Yuhas, and her beloved grandchildren: Ashley Klein, Kaylee Reisbig, Kaiden Reisbig, Keegan Reisbig, Tyler Church, and Wesson Poole, William Poole and Ruger Poole. She was preceded in death by her parents, Minette and Alexander Yuhas.
A memorial service will be held in Portland, Michigan at a later date to allow loved ones to honor her memory.
