Carolyn R Valentine

Carolyn Irene Rogers Valentine, 78, of Spartanburg, SC died on 11-24-2014 at her residence. A native of Spartanburg County, she was born October 29, 1936 to the late Hardy Rogers and the late Reola Rogers.

Carolyn lived in Spartanburg, SC until 20 years of age when she married the late Arnold H. Valentine and moved to Commerce, GA. As Jehovah’s Witnesses, she and her husband served in the full-time ministry in Georgia, Greenwood, SC and later moved to Columbia, SC where they lived for 40 years. Carolyn served faithfully as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 57 years.

Carolyn and Arnold were married for 46 years until his death in 2003. They raised 3 daughters: Libby Valentine of Punta Gorda, FL, Lisa Rivera of Columbia, SC and Lydia Scott of Columbia, SC. She is also survived by two sisters: Gale Haulbrook and Doris Henry, both of Spartanburg and seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Beverly Guy.

Burial will be private and a memorial service will be held at a date, time and place to be determined later.
