Charles Douglas Hart

Charles Douglas "Charley" Hart, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on August 18, 2025, in Greenville, SC, at the age of 71. Born on January 7, 1954, in Greer, SC, to Charles and the late Hazel Hart. Also, he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ree Hart and a nephew, Brian Hall.

His memory will be cherished by his father, Charles Hart; his sisters, Anne Singleton (Malcom) and Brenda Hall (Perry); his nieces, April Taylor (Jay) and Amber Barnette (Doug); his nephews, Craig Singleton (April), Chad Singleton (Angela), Lee Hall (Christy), and Bobby Hall (Kimberlee); and a special friend Gleena. Doug was a devoted husband and carried the love for his family in every step of his journey as his legacy continues through the many great-nieces and great-nephews who will miss his playful spirit and enduring presence.


Doug's professional life was a testament to his work ethic and loyalty, having dedicated over 40 years as a Maintenance Manager at Dycos services. Randy Saxon and Jim Saxon (Employers) as well as his co-workers, have been a friend for life, whose support and care over the years have been so appreciated. An avid supporter of the South Carolina Gamecocks, Doug's enthusiasm for his team was infectious. His love for golfing was only matched by his passion for travel, with the beach and the mountains being his favorite retreats. Doug's home was a haven for his beloved cats, who were a source of comfort and companionship. Doug's courage in the face of life's challenges was an inspiration and encouragement to others.

Doug's life was a beautiful testimony of love, friendship, and faith. As we bid farewell to Doug, we celebrate a life lived with passion and purpose. His laughter, stories, and the warmth of his presence will be deeply missed by all but never forgotten.

A celebration of life will be a private family gathering.
