David Mac Evette

December 3, 1950 — May 6, 2024

Easley, Sc

David Mac Evette, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024, in Greenville, SC. He was born on December 3, 1950, in Pickens, SC, to the late Milton Franklin Evette and Catherine Azilee McJunkin Evette. Mac's warmth and wisdom left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.

Mac grew up in the close-knit community of Pickens and graduated from Pickens High School. After high school, he honorably served his country as a Navy veteran. Upon returning to civilian life, Mac embarked on a career as a heavy equipment operator, a role he held until his retirement. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to his family and friends.

Those who knew Mac will remember him as a loving and caring man, always ready to share his wisdom or a joke to put a smile on someone's face. He was a beacon of guidance and support, not only to his family but to all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.

Mac's life was rich with interests that he pursued with passion. He was an avid car racing enthusiast, and his love for the sport was infectious. As a father, he took great joy in sharing his interests and life lessons with his children and grandchildren. Mac's legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on through them.

He is survived by his devoted children, Hali (Zack) Klicka and Michael (Amy) Evette, and grandchildren Lila, River, and Riley who will forever cherish the memories and the good advice he imparted. Mac also leaves behind his brothers, Ray and Dan Evette.

Mac will be deeply missed, but the wisdom he shared and the love he gave will never be forgotten.
