Born on November 29, 1955, in Greenville, SC, to the late Thomas Lee and Jessie Sue Mahaffey, David's life was one of vibrant engagement with the world and a deep love for his family and hobbies.

David is survived by his siblings, Rosemarie (Manuel) Ramos, Robert Lee, Carolyn Brown, and William (Becky) King. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Watt, and brother, Michael Lee, as well as his parents.
