David Meranto, a cherished husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away on March 7, 2026, in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. Born on November 12, 1954, in Youngstown, Ohio, David was a proud alumni of Kent State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in labor relations.

David dedicated his professional life to his role as a traveling business manager for LTV Steel, a career that allowed him to blend his remarkable charm with his passion for people and business. His wise outlook on life and warm approach to relationships made him a respected figure in his field.

Outside of his professional endeavors, David was a man of varied interests and hobbies that reflected his vibrant personality. His love for music, particularly The Beatles, brought joy to many of his gatherings. He could often be seen enjoying a glass of red wine or bourbon while cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes. David also had a keen interest in watch collecting, a hobby that allowed him to appreciate craftsmanship through timepieces. His fondness for animals added another layer to his kind-hearted nature.

Above all, David’s greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Amanda Meranto, and his two sons, Christopher (Crystal) Meranto and Kyle (Amanda) Meranto. He was a proud grandfather to Savannah Grace, Henlee Lynn, and Nash David, whom he adored deeply. David also leaves behind his brother, Ralph Meranto, as well as his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carrie and Paul Hughes, and brothers-in-law, Steven (Heather) Hughes, Matthew Hughes, as well as several nieces and nephews. Additionally, he leaves behind his six beloved pets. Dogs; Moe, Walter, and Wyatt, Cats; Jude, Bowie, and Penn.

David was preceded in death by his cherished parents Raplh and Jean Meranto and  sister, Martha Meranto. He will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for his commitment to his family and the lasting impact he made on the lives of those around him. His loving, wise, passionate, and charming presence will be sorely missed.
