Dawn Yvette Martin, a beacon of unwavering strength and grace, passed away on March 21, 2026, in Easley, South Carolina. Born on May 24, 1968, in Toledo, Ohio, Dawn's life was a luminous testament to love, devotion, and remarkable selflessness.

In her distinguished career within the realm of security, Dawn was much more than a guardian of physical spaces; she was a stalwart protector and provider for all who crossed her path, embodying a profound spiritual fortitude that resonated deeply with those around her. Her protective nature extended beyond duty, serving as a steadfast pillar to her family and community alike.

Dawn was known for an effervescent personality marked by loving kindness, unwavering generosity, and a heart that sought to uplift others without hesitation. Those privileged to know her admired her for her helpfulness and caring spirit—attributes that defined every moment she shared with others. Her legacy is one of compassion and selfless service, a legacy etched in the lives she touched profoundly.

Her soul was deeply anchored by her faith; Dawn loved the Lord with an earnestness that guided her through every chapter of her life. She found joy and solace in her grandchildren, as well as traveling and cherished the tranquility of the beach, where the vastness of the ocean mirrored her boundless love and hope.

Dawn’s family was her greatest treasure. She is survived by her devoted children: Nairrealle Martin, Darron E. Martin, Deanthony L. Martin, and Deon D. Martin, each of whom carried forward her strength and nurturing spirit. She is also remembered fondly by her brother Owen Martin, along with Rapheth, Elijah, and Elisha Martin; her sisters Annie, Faith, and Sarah Martin; her cousins Carmen and Christine Matten; twelve beloved grandchildren; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who benefitted from her generous heart.

Though Dawn left this world, she did so following the footsteps of her mother, Hattie Martin, and grandmother, Lillie Bell Mims, affectionately known as “Granny.” She also now rests beyond the reach of her cousin Lawrence Matten, son J'Ronn Martin, and nephew Kish Matten, whose memories remain etched in her enduring spirit.

Dawn Yvette Martin’s life was a symphony of love, protection, and unyielding faith—a radiant soul who answered the call to serve and shelter others with tenderness and courage. Her memory will forever be cherished as a guiding light, inspiring all who knew her to embrace life's challenges with the same selfless love and vibrant faith that so beautifully defined her existence.
