Dennis "Scotty" Arnold, a retired cook known for his handy skills and infectious laughter, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, in his hometown of Greenville, South Carolina. Born on February 18, 1951, in Greenville, Dennis lived a life rich with simple pleasures and heartfelt connections.

Dennis was a man who found great joy in the outdoors, whether it was fishing, exploring the mountains, or tending to his garden. He was especially proud of the peppers and tomatoes he grew, a testament to his love of nature. He was also a regular at the flea market, and could be found searching for more chicken figurines for his collection.

His family remembers him as a handyman whose talents were matched only by his joyful, contagious laugh that could lighten the mood in any room. Dennis’s presence was a steady and uplifting force for those around him.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Dianne Arnold Bell (Bryan); his sons, Larry Eugene Arnold (Tisha) and Scott Arnold (Brandy); and his sister, Judy Arnold Murdock. He was a grandfather to James Campbell (Melissa), Emily Campbell, Kayla Cruz (Obie), Tyler Bell, Andrew McCall, and Abbigail Arnold. His loving great-grandchildren Lyric, Nyla, Calina, Carson, Camis, Tyson, and Kayson also carry forward his legacy. Dennis leaves behind a plethora of friends that loved, cared, and cherished him, especially David, Brenda, and Bill.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Larry Franklin Arnold, Manley “Buzzy” Arnold, and Danny Arnold, and his parents, Mildred Jennings Arnold and Joe Franklin Arnold.

Dennis "Scotty" Arnold’s life was a tapestry of care, humor, and dedication to his family and interests. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in every breeze that stirs the leaves of his favorite mountain trails, every ripple on the water where he fished, and every blossom from his garden. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring beauty of a life well-lived.
