Dixie Clarinda Brock Helms left us on June 4, 2025, following several years of declining health. She was called home by our heavenly father where she now is out of pain and suffering. As the Bible states, she is walking the streets of gold (Revelation 21:18). Dixie was the wife of Roger Helms for over 51 years and God blessed them with a great marriage and with two great children and one grandson.
She is survived by daughter Melody Hope Helms Bundschuh McGehee and husband Mac of Jacksonville, Fl. son Dr. Brock Hampton Helms and wife Teresa and son, Alexander “Olek” of Greenville, SC. Dixie is also survived by a brother, Joseph Brock of Kings Mountain. Preceded in death by her parents, Helen Hope Trout Brock and Lester Howard Brock, brothers Martin and Duane Brock.
Dixie grew up in Spartanburg, SC and graduated from Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC. She was recruited by Belk Store services where she spent all her career as a loyal associate of Belk Stores, retiring as VP of Information Technology.
Dixie’s hobbies were spending time with the children and precious grandson ”Olek". She also enjoyed the board game Mahjong where she taught many how to play. Earlier, she and her husband liked to travel and take cruises and served several times on mission trips to Romania.
