Don Wayne Weeks, known affectionately as Don to his family and friends, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, in Greer, South Carolina. He was born on June 2, 1947, in the historic city of Charleston, South Carolina, to the late Francis Rhett Sr. and Rose Weeks. Don's life was one filled with love, laughter, and the joy of shared experiences.

A proud graduate of St. John's High School's class of 1967, Don was a man of many talents. His professional journey as a CNC and Tool and Die machinist was marked by precision and a passion for craftsmanship. He was respected by his colleagues and associates for his expertise and his dedication to his trade.

Don's interests were as varied as they were vibrant. He was an avid music enthusiast, often reminiscing about the days he played the trumpet in a band in the soulful city of New Orleans. His love for sports was undeniable, with a particular fondness for fast cars, especially Mustangs, and the thrill of NASCAR races. Don was a loyal fan of the Cowboys and the Carolina Panthers, always ready to cheer on his teams with great enthusiasm.

Animals held a special place in Don's heart, and he was known for his compassionate nature towards all creatures great and small. His sense of humor was infectious, and those who knew him will fondly remember his appreciation for the quirky wit of Monty Python.

Don was a loving family man, survived by his daughter, Jennifer Bogart (Lynn), his grandson Matthew Morgan (Valerie), and his great granddaughter Olivia Grace. He was a brother to Francis Rhett Weeks Jr. (Linda) and will be deeply missed by his girlfriend, Sara St. Amant. His son,Michael Purgason and his family, members including daughters Kayla Pearson (Thomas) and Miranda Boone, and his son Scotty Smith, along with Don's six cherished great grandchildren, will carry forward his legacy of kindness.

His life was a testament to the words that best describe him: loving, funny, and generous. Don's capacity to give and his ability to bring joy to those around him were unparalleled. He leaves behind a wealth of memories full of laughter and love that will continue to inspire and comfort his family, friends, and everyone who was fortunate enough to cross paths with him.

Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deidre, who was undoubtedly waiting to welcome him with open arms. The bond they shared was a beacon of true partnership and affection.

The Weeks family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the many loving cousins and friends who have been a source of support and comfort throughout Don's life and during this time of loss.

Don's journey on earth has come to a close, but his spirit, the echoes of his laughter, and the imprint of his generosity will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him. As we say goodbye to Don Wayne Weeks, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, marked by an unwavering commitment to family, friendship, and the simple joys of life.
