Donald R. Fix, known affectionately as Don to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2024, in Greenville, SC. Born on July 3, 1937, in Easley, SC, Don was a man whose presence was characterized by his thoughtful nature, friendly demeanor, and generous spirit.
Don's life was one of dedication and hard work. He embarked on a career that would see him become a respected Maintenance Supervisor at Hunters Place Apartments, from which he eventually retired. His commitment to his work was matched only by his commitment to his family and friends.
A man of many interests, Don was an exceptional bowler, achieving the pinnacle of perfection with a 300-game at Golden Lanes in 1987. This accomplishment was a testament to his skill and passion for the sport. Don also relished the simple pleasures of life, such as working in the yard, swimming in the pool, and most of all, spending time with his beloved friends. His love for sports was evident in the enthusiasm with which he followed his favorite teams and engaged in conversations about the latest games.
Don's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years; Sandee Fix, his children, Nicholas Fix and his wife Melinda, Donna Nesbit and her husband Gary, and Patty Salas and her husband Tony. He was a cherished brother to Julia Uldrick and her husband Lucius and many nieces and nephews as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Don was predeceased by his son Roger Fix, his sister June Williams, and his brother Larry Fix. Each family member will carry forward the legacy of love, kindness, and the joy of living that Don exemplified throughout his life.
