Donald Van Newman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 2, 2026, in Easley, South Carolina. Born on February 22, 1956, in Greenville, South Carolina, Donald led a life characterized by kindness, adventure, and a spirit that left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Throughout his career as a truck driver, Donald traveled various roads, but it was the personal journeys with his family that he cherished most. He was known for his friendly disposition and his ability to captivate those around him with fascinating stories from both his life and travels. His adventurous spirit extended beyond the confines of his career; he had a profound love for motorcycles and enjoyed visiting the beach, especially the ones Florida had to offer.

Throughout his life, Donald's presence brought comfort and joy to his loved ones, especially to his wife, Betty Newman, his son Scott (Mandi) Newman, and his daughter Angie (David) Bennett.

His grandchildren Hunter Robitaille (Brook), Logan Newman, Rachel Newman, Jordan (Liam) Cutrer, Charli Newman, Bodhi Newman, Dee (Autum) Bennett, and Donavan (Taylor) Bennett will forever remember the warmth and love he generously shared. His legacy will also continue through his stepchildren Ben Wright, Kaylyn (Daniel) Bosma, Betty Jo (Greg) Wilson, Cathy Morgan, and step granddaughter Aubrey Wright. In addition, Donald is survived by several great grandchildren who he deeply cherished.
