Doris Yearwood Burton, known affectionately as Doris to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2024, at the age of 73 in her hometown of Greenville, South Carolina. Born on July 13, 1950, in the same welcoming city, Doris's life was a tapestry of love, entrepreneurship, and a zest for life that touched all who knew her.

Doris was the beloved wife of the late Leon Burton, with whom she shared a life full of joy and companionship. Her legacy continues through her devoted daughter, Shannon McDonald of Moore, SC; her caring grandsons, including Montana Mahaffey of Easley, SC; her loving daughters, Angela Lingafeldt of Arkansas and Toni Clauson of Spring Hill, FL; and her cherished niece, Debbi Dill, and nephew Joey of Lyman, SC. Doris was a pillar of strength and inspiration for her six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her spirit of generosity and kindness.

Her best friend, Moleva Kelly of Easley, SC, stood by her through thick and thin, sharing countless memories that will be treasured forever. Doris was from a family of ten siblings, and she is survived by two of them, who will miss her deeply.

Doris was a woman of many talents and aspirations. She completed her education with a High School Diploma and went on to become a successful entrepreneur. Her passion for service and excellence was evident in the cleaning business she owned before becoming disabled. She also owned a restaurant, where her love for cooking was shared with the community. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and her recipes will be remembered and recreated by those who were fortunate enough to experience them.

Her interests extended beyond her professional life. Doris was an avid crafter, creating beautiful works that reflected her attention to detail and her creative spirit. She had an immense love for dogs, which brought her great comfort and companionship over the years.

Doris was the epitome of friendliness, always greeting everyone with a warm smile and an open heart. Her interesting life stories and spirited personality made her a joy to be around. She had a unique ability to light up a room and make people feel at home.
