Doris Jeanette Padgett, a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, in Easley, South Carolina, at the age of 86. Born on January 17, 1939, Doris exemplified a life filled with love, thoughtfulness, and selflessness. Her generous spirit touched all who knew her, and her passion for life was evident in every endeavor she undertook.

Doris dedicated much of her professional life as a Supervisor at Stone Manufacturing, where her leadership and commitment made a lasting impact on her colleagues. However, it was her role as a devoted family member that truly defined her. A loving mother to her three sons, John Padgett (Rhonda), James E. Padgett (Pam), and Joseph H. Padgett (Lisa), Doris nurtured her family with unwavering support and affection. Her kindness extended to her sister, Sheila J. Bryant (Glen) and her grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly: Amanda Cobb (Randy), Ashley Nguyen (Lee), Angela Brooks (Andrew), Dawn Hambree (Patrick), and 6 great grandchildren.

Doris derived great joy from her hobbies and interests, with a particular passion for gardening that provided her solace and satisfaction. She found companionship and joy in her beloved cats, which were often seen as extensions of her nurturing spirit. Above all, her love for the Lord and her family was the centerpiece of her life, and she created countless cherished memories that will forever be treasured.

Preceding her in death were her husband, James Baxter Padgett, and her parents, Doc Howard Haynie and Maude Davis Haynie, along with her beloved siblings, Betty H. Mulkey and Ray Haynie. Their spirits live on in the countless stories, lessons, and moments of love they shared together.

Doris Jeanette Padgett’s legacy is one of resilience, compassion, and profound love. Her absence will be felt deeply by her family and friends, yet the warmth of her generous heart will live on in all those she touched throughout her remarkable life. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered, her spirit forever guiding and inspiring those she loved.
