Elizabeth Miller Henry

Elizabeth Miller Henry, born in Marion, NC on April 15, 1939, passed away peacefully on September 20 following a brief and sudden illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and respected pharmacist, Beth lived a life marked by love of family, service to others, faith, and a commitment to excellence. Beth was the beloved wife of Tony M. Henry, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage. Together, they built a loving family and a life filled with cherished memories. A lifelong scholar, Beth graduated as valedictorian of McDowell High School. She continued her education at Greensboro College before earning her pharmacy degree from the University of South Carolina. After college, she made Greenville, South Carolina, her home, where she built a distinguished career as a pharmacist. She practiced at Fowler’s Pharmacy and Eckerd’s Drugs, where she became known for her knowledge, professionalism, and genuine care for those she served. Although Beth was accomplished in her profession, her greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother to her daughters, Gina Ross and Beverly Loewengruber, and a proud grandmother to Kaitlyn Hooper, Blake Loewengruber, Haley Ross Gillespie, and Brooke Reker. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Ellie Mae Ross, Rue Gillespie, Hallie Reker, and Billy Hooper.Beth’s lively spirit was reflected in the many interests she enjoyed. An avid reader, she loved discovering new stories and ideas. She also enjoyed watching sports and attending games, with Gamecock football holding a particularly special place in her heart. She adored cats and found joy in yoga and dancing, embracing the simple pleasures of life with curiosity and enthusiasm. She was always stylish and impeccably dressed, carrying herself with grace and elegance wherever she went.Beth will be remembered for her sharp mind, dedication to others, faith, and wide-ranging interests, but most of all for the love she gave her family. She continued to witness to others through her faith until the end. Her legacy lives on through the generations of her family and the many lives she touched throughout her remarkable career.She will be deeply missed by her husband, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know her. Services will be held on Saturday, October 3, at 4:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall, located on Old Spartanburg Road in Greenville, South Carolina.
