Ellen Kelley Burns, a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord on July 21, 2026, at the age of 63. Even in her final moments, Ellen's selfless heart continued to give. Through the gift of organ donation, she saved two lives, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, generosity, and hope that will live on for generations.

Born on August 28, 1962, in Pickens, South Carolina, Ellen was the cherished daughter of the late Theron and Judy Kelley. She was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Eric A. Crenshaw; her brother, Dale Kelley; and her sister, Debbie Holder as well as her beloved late husband of over 30 years, Phillip Burns.

Her marriage was a beautiful example of unwavering love, friendship, and commitment. Together they built a life centered on family, laughter, and the simple joys of being together.

Ellen is also survived by her son, Matthew Crenshaw, and his wife, Sierra, who will continue to carry forward her legacy of kindness, strength, and unconditional love. Her greatest joy was her family, and she treasured every moment spent making memories with those she loved most.

She also leaves behind her loving siblings: Dretha Dorsey with her brother-in-law Doyle, Louise Campbell and her brother-in-law Gary, Shirley Kelley, Timmy Kelley, and Jimmy Kelley and his wife Stephanie, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who were blessed by her love and generosity. They have countless memories of time spent together. She shared a special bond with her treasured niece, Donna Coker, and Randy, who held a special place in her heart.

Ellen's love extended beyond people to the animals she adored. Her faithful dog, Montana, was a constant companion, and she found endless joy caring for her grand-dog, Presley, aka Punky. While Matthew and Sierra were away. The animals brought countless smiles to her days and filled her home with happiness.

Ellen found beauty in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending quiet mornings fishing. She poured her heart into gardening, nurturing flowers and plants with the same love she gave to everyone around her. She enjoyed playing pool, where her competitive spirit was always matched by her warm smile and infectious laughter.

More than anything, Ellen will be remembered for the way she loved. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen, welcomed, and valued. Her kindness was genuine, her generosity knew no limits, and her compassion touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Whether offering encouragement, lending a helping hand, or simply sharing a smile, Ellen reflected love in everything she did.

Her final act of generosity was choosing to become an organ donor. Though her family grieves the immeasurable loss of her presence, they find comfort in knowing that because of Ellen's incredible gift, others have been given the opportunity to continue living. Her legacy is not only found in the memories she created but also in the lives she will forever change.

Ellen will be deeply missed by her friends and family, but they will choose to go on living life in ways that honor her memory until they see her again.
