Evangelina Verge Lopez, a beloved woman whose life was rooted in love, faith and unity of family, entered her eternal rest on December 1, 2025, at McCall's Hospice House. Born on May 14, 1942, in Isabella, Puerto Rico, she grew into a steadfast servant of God - radiating gentleness, compassion and the true essence of Christian grace.

She graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor of Natural Sciences, majoring in Zoology, pursuing knowledge with the same curiosity and dedication that she brought to every part of her life. In 1960 she married her devoted husband, Raul Erlando Lopez, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, beginning a life long partnership grounded in faith, love and purpose.

Evangelina was a nurturing soul who dedicated her life to her family. As a devoted mother, she is survived by her two sons, Raul E. Lopez (Ramineh Yazdani) and Alberto Lopez (Yesenia Lopez -Benitez), both of whom carry forward her legacy of love and compassion. Beloved grandchildren; including Raul Erlando Lopez - Yazdani, Roxana Maria Lopez-Yazdani (Daniel) "Bebo", Rebeca Ezat Lopez-Yazdani (Kris), Samuel A. Lopez-Benitez, and Ana Maria Lopez-Benitez. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and her influence will continue to live on in their lives. Evangelina's great-granddaughter, Laleh Lopez Luccioni, was also a light in her life and cherished deeply. Evangelina's sisters, Osiris Verge, Myrta Verge, Zoraida Verge and Miriam Verge, were not only sisters but also lifelong friends who shared countless memories and experiences with her. Their bond exemplified the warmth of family unity that Evangelina valued so highly.

Evangelina possessed a deep and abiding passion for sharing the Gospel. Her spiritual calling led her to translate a variety of Christian materials into Spanish, ensuring that God's message could reach and uplift others. Her commitment to ministry extended beyond her home as she joined her late husband Raul in missionary work, including a meaningful journey to Panama where they served with humble hearts.

Beyond her familial roles, Evangelina was known for her love of gardening, where she found joy in nurturing the beauty of flowers. She was also a prayer warrior, holding prayer close to her heart and sharing her faith with those around her.

As we remember Evangelina Verge Lopez, we celebrate her gentle spirit and the tremendous love she shared freely with her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
