Evans James Fowlkes, 69, of Taylors, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at the home of his sister Debra Miller and her husband Vernon on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
Born on January 11, 1956, in the state of Washington, Evans had a lifelong love for vintage toy collecting and the thrill of metal detecting. A man of deep faith, he loved God and his church, and found great joy in singing hymns.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Alfred Fowlkes Sr.; his mother, Mary Frederick Fowlkes; and his nephew, John Kabakjian Jr.
Evans is survived by his brother, Earl A. Fowlkes Jr., and his wife, Phyllis; his sister, Debra Miller, and her husband, Vernon; his sister, Donna Kabakjian, and her husband, John; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The family will not be holding a funeral service at this time.
Evans will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his joyful songs, and the way he brought warmth and kindness to all who knew him.
