In 1953, at just 19 years old, Eve immigrated to the United States of America to join her sister and niece who had arrived the previous year. She joined the US Army in 1956 to "see the world." When Eve was discharged she settled down in Washington DC. There she earned a degree from Howard University in History. 

Eve shared 60 years of her life with friend and partner, Sara Minor, who predeceased her in 2022. 

She was a dedicated lab technician at Red Cross, Washington DC, and St. Louis hospitals until she retired. Her passion was renovating old homes, and living in the space, or selling it for others to enjoy. 

The last three years she lived with her niece in South Carolina, which became her final resting place. She is survived by her niece and numerous great nieces and nephews.
