Frances Carole Hann

January 28, 1942 — May 3, 2025

Greenville, SC

Frances Carole Hann, known to friends and family as Carole, passed away on May 3, 2025. Born in Clinton, Indiana to Horace Milton and Martha Crooke (Chipps), she was the beloved sister of Christina Crooke. Carole attended Miami University of Ohio, where her journey into a life of love, art, and family began.

In 1967, she married Brian Hann, an Australian NCR executive she met on a blind date arranged by family friends and her parents. They settled in Kettering, Ohio, and raised two children, Jennifer and Robert (“Chip”). Carole was a devoted wife, mother, teacher, and artist who filled her home with warmth, creativity, and kindness.

The Hanns lived in Ohio, Long Island, and later retired to Sarasota, Florida, creating a lifetime of cherished memories and friendships. Following Brian’s passing, Carole moved to Greenville, South Carolina to be closer to her daughter and spent her final years at The Woodlands at Furman University.

Carole will be remembered for her independence, sweet spirit, artistic talent, and deep love for family. Her paintings captured the places and people she held dear—from her homes to the Australian countryside.

She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and quiet strength. Carole is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Harrison (Hann) and her husband Rol; her son, Robert Hann and his wife Talley Hann (Trench) and her grandchildren Sammy, Elliot and Thomas; her sister Christina Sisley (Crooke) and her husband Ed.
