Frederick Allen Nagle, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, known to everyone as Fred, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Born on July 11, 1939, in International Falls, Minnesota, Fred made a mark not only through his professional life but also through his loving connections with family and friends.
Fred dedicated much of his career as a meat cutter, following in the footsteps of his father, John A. Nagle. His work exemplified a commitment to skill and tradition that he carried with pride throughout his life.
A person of remarkable kindness, Fred was known for his friendly demeanor and thoughtfulness. He was deeply loved by those who knew him, always radiating warmth and compassion. His passion for life was evident in the many hobbies he cherished. He found joy in the great outdoors, particularly through fishing and enjoying the serene beauty of the mountains. Many cherished memories were made on his porch, where he could be found sipping coffee and soaking in the quiet moments of life. A devoted sports fan, Fred had a special place in his heart for NASCAR, the Atlanta Braves, and the Carolina Panthers, often cheering enthusiastically for his favorite teams.
Fred is survived by his adoring daughters: Jen Nagle of WI, Tammy Michelfelder of WI, Lori Nagle of WI, Lisa Edwards of FL, Kimberly Nagle of FL, Christy Nagle of FL, and DeeDee Pope of FL, Cindy Beuhner and husband Terry of SC as well as his sons, JB Gardei of CO, Scott Hayes of NC, and daughter, Michael Simons of SC. His legacy continues through his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is fondly remembered by all that knew and loved him.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, John A. Nagle and Kathleen Nagle. He was also predeceased by his wife Kathy Nagle and his son, Fred Nagle Jr. His life was a gift to those around him, leaving a lasting impact that will be felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He will be deeply missed, but his spirit and loving nature will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
There will be no service at this time, the family has suggested making a donation to Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Hospice Home, or SC School for the Deaf and Blind to honor the life of Frederick Allen Nagle.
