Listen to Obituary

Gail Callahan DeLoach, a loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, at the age of 88 in Easley, SC. Born on September 28, 1936, in Piedmont, SC, Gail's life was a testament to her faith in Christ. A longtime member of Buncombe Street Methodist, she was an active member of the Tommy Thomason Sunday School class.

Gail's professional journey was marked by her long-standing dedication to Liberty Life Insurance Company, where she served in multiple departments. Her analytical skills and passion for her work were evident to all who had the pleasure of working alongside her.

As much as she was committed to her career, Gail's heart truly belonged to her family. She was the loving wife of the late Bob DeLoach, and together they built a life filled with joy, sacrifice, and mutual respect. Her legacy continues through her son and daughter in law, Michael and Kim DeLoach, and her grandchildren, Lizzie and Walker DeLoach. She's also survived by her brother, Phil Callahan, whom she loved to call and text about Braves baseball.

Gail's role as a grandmother was one of her most treasured. She instituted "Gran days," special days dedicated to her grandchildren, where she would spend quality time with each of them individually. These moments were filled with laughter, learning, and the kind of love that shapes a lifetime.

An avid gardener, Gail found solace and joy in the beauty of her flowers. Iris were her favorites. Gail also enjoyed a competitive game of Bridge, King's Corner with the grands, and watching golf, football, basketball, and baseball with Bob and Michael. She was a huge Dean Smith fan and claimed the Tar Heels as her team during his career there.

Gail DeLoach was the embodiment of structure, analysis, and passion. She championed and provided for the ones she loved most. Her attention to detail was the key to her successful career as well as keeping account of her household. While she declined after the passing of Bob, we rejoice in the assurance they are now reunited and that one day we will see them again, too.

A memorial service has been scheduled for Monday September 22, 2025, at 12:30 PM and the service will be held in the Chapel of Buncombe Street Methodist Church, located at 200 Buncombe St, Greenville, SC 29601.
