Gary O'Sheal, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Born on November 30, 1944, in Greenville, South Carolina, Gary lived a vibrant life filled with love, dedication, and fervor, leaving a legacy that will be cherished by those who knew him.

For over 30 years, Gary was a dedicated worker at Duke Power, where his commitment and passion for his profession shone through every day. His unwavering work ethic was matched only by his loyalty to his family and friends, making him a pillar in both his professional and personal life. Gary served 2 years in the United States Army.

When he wasn’t working, Gary found joy in running, embracing the open air and the freedom it provided. He was also an ardent supporter of the Clemson Tigers, proudly cheering them on, celebrating victories, and sharing in the camaraderie that sports can bring.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Fonda Gwynn O'Sheal, who stood by his side through life’s ups and downs. His daughters, Amy Powell and Allison Adams, along with his son, Eric O'Sheal (Laura), will remember their father as a source of unwavering support and joy. Gary’s legacy continues to thrive in the laughter and love shared with his three cherished grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.

He is also survived by his brothers, Carroll O'Sheal (Hazel) and Mike O'Sheal (Patty), who remember him as a loyal brother and friend. The memories they created together will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Gary was preceded in death by his dear parents, Pickney and Eglan O'Sheal, who nurtured his spirit and values throughout his life. Their love will continue to resonate through the stories and memories shared by his family.

As we remember Gary O'Sheal, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart full of kindness, and a spirit undaunted by challenges. While his physical presence may no longer be with us, his legacy of love and strength will remain forever etched in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.

The family will hold a private ceremony of Celebration of Life at a later date.
