Gloria Wright, a beacon of laughter and love, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, in Greenville, SC, at the age of 76. Born on September 10, 1948, in South Carolina, Gloria was the cherished daughter of the late John Walter James and Lula Goggins James. She shared 23 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Robert Wright, and was a loving mother to her children, Melanie Copeland, Milton Copeland, and Eric Copeland.

Gloria's life was a testament to her faith, humor, and the deep love she had for her family. She was a beloved supervisor at her workplace, where she was known for her dedication and ability to inspire her colleagues with her infectious laughter and positive spirit. Her involvement in her community extended to her role as an usher at Old Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a guiding light to many.

Her laughter was a gift that she shared generously, brightening the lives of everyone around her. Gloria's sense of humor was unparalleled, and she had a unique talent for making anyone laugh, regardless of the circumstances. Her love for games, especially Bingo and various card games, allowed her to form countless cherished memories with friends and family.

Gloria's legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her husband, Robert; her daughter, Melanie Copeland; her sons, Milton and Eric(Melissa), her granddaughters, LaKeela, LaQueena, and Solita Copeland; her grandsons, Milton Copeland Jr. and Mason Copeland; and her six great grandchildren and her special nieces, Doreatha Fleming, and Katie Mae Kingsborough. Gloria is survived by a host of loving relatives and friends, who will forever cherish her memory. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Brittany Copeland as well as her siblings Corinne Gary, Lula James, Mary James, Dorothy James, John Henry James, and Diamaggio James, with whom she now reunites in eternal peace. 

The words funny, loving, and faith-filled encapsulate the essence of Gloria Wright. She was a woman of great faith, which she lived out through her actions and service. Her love knew no bounds, and she was a source of strength and comfort to her family and friends. Gloria's memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories and laughter she left behind.

As we bid farewell to Gloria, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of joy, love, and unwavering faith. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
