Harold Irwin Martin

Harold Irwin Martin, known to family and friends as Irwin, passed away on September 2, 2026, in Greenville, South Carolina, at the age of 69.

Born on September 29, 1956, in Greenville, South Carolina, he lived his life with a steady spirit, a kind heart, and a deep devotion to the people he loved. Irwin was a man who valued hard work, loyalty, and time spent with family and friends. He was known for his loving nature, his wisdom, and the spirited way he approached life, leaving behind memories that will be cherished for years to come. 

Irwin spent 38 years working as a forklift driver and also worked in Bi-Low and C&S Grocers Warehouse, building a reputation for dependability and dedication throughout his career. He took pride in doing his work well and was respected by those who knew him professionally. His strong work ethic reflected the same character he carried into every part of his life. He was the kind of man others could count on, and he met each responsibility with quiet strength and determination. 

Outside of work, Irwin found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and football, and these interests brought him many happy times and lasting memories. Whether he was outdoors enjoying the peace of nature or following a football game, he appreciated the moments that brought people together. His interests were a reflection of who he was, a man who enjoyed fellowship, tradition, and the beauty of time well spent. 

Irwin is survived by his loving wife, Sandy, and his daughter, Amanda Martin. He is also survived by his sisters, Debbie Tollison, Kathy Roper, Sherri Albertson and her husband Ed, and Denise Martin, as well as his brother, Wayne Martin, and his wife Gail. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will remember him with love and gratitude. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Betty Martin.

Those who knew Irwin will remember him as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. His presence brought comfort and strength to those around him, and his words and actions often reflected a wisdom that came from a life lived with purpose. He had a spirited personality that could brighten a room, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. 

A life well lived is measured not only by years, but by the love shared, the work completed, and the memories created along the way. Irwin Martin leaves behind a legacy of devotion, resilience, and kindness. Though he will be deeply missed, his family and friends will carry forward the lessons he taught by example and the love he gave so freely.
