Harold Garrett Nation, age 85, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, at home with his family by his side.

Born on May 17, 1941, Garrett was the son of the late Pope and Pauline Nation. He lived a life marked by devotion to his family, steadfast faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and a strong work ethic. Garrett’s greatest joy was the family he built and the countless memories he shared with those he loved.

On July 4, 1959, Garrett married the love of his life, Dewey Brown Nation. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and commitment, spanning nearly 67 years. Dewey survives him and will forever cherish the life they shared.

In addition to his beloved wife, Garrett is survived by his six children: Tami Nation Trull (Tommy), Tim Nation (Lisa), Tommy Nation (Gladys), Tony Nation (Frances), Terry Nation (Robbin), and Tiffany Nation. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Nation.

Garrett was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren: Tovah Lewis, Torey Riser, Tiara Riser, Tanner Morris, Teran Nickles, Tonie Dawn Nation, Terie Nation, and Taylor Baker. He was also a loving great-grandfather to twelve great-grandchildren: Triston Lewis, Tucker Riser, Emma Peeples, Tai Nickles, Taliah Lewis, Teghan Lewis, Trace Nickles, Easton Nation, Tahj Nickles, Tia Baker, Ellie Nation, and Tessa Baker, all of whom brought him great joy and pride.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Texas Nation

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Garrett’s life and honor his memory at a service to be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 611 New Market Street, Greenwood, SC

Garrett will be remembered for his love of family, his loyalty, his quiet strength, and the example he set for those who knew him. While his passing leaves a void in the hearts of his loved ones, the memories he created and the legacy he leaves behind will continue to live on through the generations of family he cherished so deeply.
