Helen Rader Carmichael departed this life peacefully on January 8th. She was preceded in passing by her husband, Dana Carmichael; her parents, J.D. and Edith Rader; her sister, Pat Smith; and her brothers, Kenneth, David, Dan, and Steve Rader.

She leaves behind her two daughters, Cindy Forrester (Chris) and Karen Atkinson (Tom); her brother, Terry Rader; her four adored grandchildren, Abbie, Sara, Blue, and Jenna; and her four precious great-granddaughters, Ava, Amaia, Ayla, and Georgia.

A native of Greenville, SC, and a graduate of Taylors High School, Helen dedicated many years of service to Michelin North America before her retirement. She lived with a joyful heart, possessed an infectious smile that lifted every room, and cherished moments spent in the company of those who brought laughter into her life.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff of Patriot Hospice for their extraordinary care and compassion over the past year.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date. For those wishing to honor Helen’s memory, the family suggests making contributions in lieu of flowers to the Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Community Lunch Program, located at 2637 Hwy 17 S, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
