Obituary

Listen to Obituary

Holly Michelle Pruitt, of Greenville, passed away on August 22, 2026, at the age of 48.

Born in Greenville on January 8, 1978, Holly was a graduate of Berea High School and went on to graduate from Clemson University in 2001, where she developed a lifelong love for her Clemson Tigers. She was a devoted Clemson fan and proudly followed her Tigers throughout the years.

Holly enjoyed a career in marketing, holding a number of marketing positions throughout her professional life. Her greatest devotion, however, was to her family. When her mother, Susan Waldrop Pruitt, needed her, Holly lovingly stepped away from her career to become her mother’s full-time caregiver. She treasured that time with her mother and remained devoted to her until Susan’s passing in 2025.

Holly was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and before that John Calvin Presbyterian Church until it closed its doors. Her strong faith in Jesus as her Lord and Savior was nurtured by these two wonderful churches.

Holly will be remembered for her love of family, her loyalty to those she cared about, and the special place she held in the hearts of those who knew her.

She is survived by her aunt, Peggy Waldrop Sublett (Rick) of Conway, Arkansas; her great-aunt, Cecilia Waldrop Burnette; and numerous cousins from both the Waldrop and Henderson families. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Margaret Henderson Waldrop Martin, who passed away in 2021, and her mother, Susan Waldrop Pruitt, in 2025.

Holly’s memory will live on through the family and friends who loved her and through the many lives she touched along the way. Her love for her family, her Clemson Tigers, and the people closest to her will never be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church 405 Trailblazer Dr., Travelers Rest, on Saturday, August 29 at noon. There will be a short time of visitation with the family after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Holly’s honor may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 405 Trailblazer Dr, Travelers Rest, SC 29690.
