Houston D. Turner, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on April 5, 2026. Born on November 18, 1935, he lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and faith.
Throughout his lifetime, Houston demonstrated a steadfast commitment to service, first serving honorably in the United States Army before embarking a career as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service.
Known for his loving, kind, and thoughtful nature, Houston touched the lives of many. His friendly demeanor and generous spirit were evident in all he did. Deeply faith-filled, he was a devoted member of Berea First Baptist Church, where he found spiritual strength in reading the Bible and praying daily.
Outside of his professional and spiritual life, Houston found joy in a variety of hobbies and interests. He was an avid gardener and a fan of western television. In his younger days, he excelled in baseball and basketball, earning numerous awards that reflected his passion and skill for sports.
Houston shared 63 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Geraldine Turner, who survives him. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Sherri Turner Price, and cherished grandfather to Taylor and Carly Price. His love extended to his great-grandchildren, Turner Mace and Charlie Mace, who will carry forward his legacy of family values. Also surviving is his brother, Ronnie Turner (Becky), and sister-in-law, Jackie Parker (Mike).
Services to celebrate Houston’s life and legacy will be held at Berea First Baptist Church, located at 529 Farrs Bridge Rd, Greenville, SC 29611. Receiving of friends will take place on April 9, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
