Jacob "Jake" Tutterow, born on November 24, 1992, in Greenville, South Carolina, passed away on February 10, 2026, in his hometown. A kind-hearted soul whose warmth and spirit touched all who knew him, Jake was a true embodiment of love and friendship.
Growing up in Greenville, Jake developed a love for the great outdoors. He found joy in traveling, particularly to the breathtaking landscapes of Wyoming and Alaska, where he formed cherished memories and friendships that would last a lifetime. An avid outdoorsman, he relished in hiking, fishing, and discovering nature's beauty. His enthusiasm for life extended into his cooking, where he showcased his passion for Asian foods, often brightening the tables of gatherings with his culinary creations.
Jake was known among his friends in Alaska as "Jakey boy," and he held a special place in the hearts of many. His engaging personality made him a people person who easily connected with others. Jake was a bright light to many, and often referred to as a kind and kindred spirit.
Jake is survived by his loving mother, Cheryll Hawkins Adams; his step-brothers, Michael Adams and Edwards Adams; and his grandfather, Reverend Donald Hawkins, his uncle and aunt, Wayne and Angie Hawkins and cousins, Hailey and Camryn Hawkins; his aunt and uncle Michele and Rick Waters; his aunt and uncle Brenda and Richard Young and cousin, Lee Young. He is also remembered fondly by his best friends, Levi Pike, Doug Ross, Nadine Fraker, Billy Brown, Layla Pavlik and so many others.
Jake was preceded in death by his father, Ricky Tutterow, his step-father, K. Mike Adams, and his cousin, Jehremy R. Young.
Though his time on this earth was brief, Jake's legacy of love, friendship, and adventurous spirit will continue to resonate in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May his memory be a blessing to all of us who carry him in our hearts.
