James Alfred Passmore

James Alfred Passmore passed away on August 8, 2026, at the age of 90, leaving behind a legacy of determination, resilience, and heartfelt connections that touched all who knew him. Born on June 2, 1936, James lived through nearly a century of change, embracing the joys and challenges that life presented with a steadfast spirit.

Throughout his long life, James was known for his dedication to his work. He was self-employed in tree work, a career that reflected his enduring strength and love of the outdoors. His commitment and work ethic became a core part of his identity, shaping how he approached each day and leaving an impression on all who crossed his path.

James’s greatest treasures were the relationships he fostered with family and friends. He is survived by many whose lives were richer for having known him: Jamie Passmore, Tracy, Richie, Maranda, Amanda, Bethany, Judy Caddell, Dennis, Kimberly, Rhaelyn, Cindy McCall, Tony, Crystal, April, Scott, Danielle, Dustin, Allen Passmore, Casie, Lacie, Austin, Renee Passmore, Amber, Dennise Pham, Jonathan, and Tiffany. James has many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Each of these individuals carries forward his memory, shaped in ways both large and small by their time with him.

James experienced profound loss in his lifetime as well, preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Linda Dover, three grandchildren, three sisters, four brothers, and his parents, Parker and Rose Passmore. These losses only deepened his capacity for empathy and connection—a quality cherished by those closest to him.

Family and friends will gather to remember and honor James at a funeral service on August 13, 2026, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Cremation Society Of South Carolina - Westville Funerals (Operations Center), 6010 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery - West, 4814 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC, with burial commencing at 1:00 p.m.
