James Steven Kelley, aged 71, of Pickens, South Carolina, passed away on December 30, 2025. Born on August 4, 1954, in Oconee, South Carolina, Steve was a devoted family man, known for his loving and faith-filled nature.
Steve had a distinguished career as a Former Retail Area Manager for Spinx, where he left an indelible mark through his leadership and dedication. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Clemson University, which not only shaped his professional life but also cultivated his lifelong passion for Clemson football. An avid sports enthusiast, he enjoyed many moments cheering for his team, embracing the spirit of camaraderie that comes with collegiate athletics.
Beyond his professional achievements, Steve was known for his diverse interests and hobbies. He took great pleasure in golfing, reading, cycling, and car restoration, showcasing both his hands-on skills and innovative mindset. His courageous and intelligent approach to life inspired everyone around him.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Kelley; his daughter, Amber Leigh Kelley; and two sisters, Carolyn Sue (Roger) Lecroy and Rachel (Issac) Kelley. He is also remembered fondly by a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Edaline Kelley; father, James Kelley; and brother, Tim Kelley. Steve leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience that will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who knew him. His unwavering spirit will be missed by all who had the honor of sharing in his life.
