James Alton Riggins, Jr., affectionately known as Jimmy, passed away peacefully at his home on May 25, 2026. Born on October 26, 1948, James dedicated much of his life to a career as a truck driver, a profession through which he demonstrated unwavering reliability and a strong work ethic until his retirement. Throughout his life, Jimmy was remembered for his loving, kind, and thoughtful nature, qualities that endeared him deeply to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jimmy’s passion for fishing brought him great joy, and he cherished the quiet moments spent by the water, appreciating the simple pleasures and tranquility of nature. In addition to his fishing excursions, he took pleasure in watching baseball on television, enjoying the spirit of the game and rooting for his favorite teams with enthusiasm.

James Alton Riggins, Jr. is survived by his devoted son Terry Riggins, his daughter Nikkie Jett, and another son, James Riggins. He also leaves behind his sister Deloris Roberson, his brother Frank Riggins, and two other sisters, Nancy Elmore and Susan Page. His legacy continues through his eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom carry a piece of his spirit forward in their lives. He was cared for with compassion and dedication by Victoria Cummings, who stood as a steadfast presence in his later years.

Jimmy’s kindness and thoughtfulness were a beacon to his family and friends, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him. His life, marked by quiet strength and genuine warmth, leaves a lasting impression and a void that will be deeply felt.
