James Harry Stevens, of Moore, South Carolina, passed away on October 4, 2026.

James was a loving husband, father, son, and brother who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was known for his funny, loving, and goofy personality. James had a way of making people laugh and bringing joy to those around him.

Jim was married to his beloved wife, Cindy. He was a devoted father to his son, Hooper, and daughter, Sydney. His children were the light of his life, and he treasured every moment spent loving, supporting, and making memories with them.

James was preceded in death by his mother.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Lynn Newell Stevens; his son, James Hooper (Abigail Schlichtmann); his daughter, Sydney Paige (Andrew Greer); his dad, Jerrold and his brothers, Jerrold and Jeff.

Jim worked at Smith Drug for 20 years, where he was a familiar and valued part of the community. He was also a member of Anderson Mill Baptist Church, where his faith and church family were an important part of his life. There, he participated as a devout member of the church orchestra where he played saxophone alongside his two children. He was an avid music enthusiast, but his greatest enthusiasm was supporting his children’s musical and creative endeavors.

Jim enjoyed riding motorcycles, spending time with his family, and most of all, loving on his children. His laughter, goofy sense of humor, and loving heart will remain in the memories of everyone who knew him.

James leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends.
