Listen to Obituary

James D. Wilson, affectionately known as Don to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, in Greenville, SC. Born on May 24, 1944, in Spartanburg, SC, Don's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, humor, and craftsmanship.

Don was the beloved son of the late James Wilson and Estelle Goode Wilson. He was a cherished brother to Jane Garner, Ann Gibson, Carol Pulliam (Ronnie), and the late Fred Wilson. Don's legacy of love continues through his devoted children, Frank Wilson (Rose) and Chad Wilson (Wanda), and his adored grandchildren, Megan, Eric, Jake, and Christian. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth Wilson, with whom he shared a lifetime of joy and companionship.

Don's career spanned many years at ECP Manufacturing in Easley, SC, where he was known for his strong work ethic and amiable nature. His colleagues respected him for his dedication and his ability to bring warmth and laughter to the workplace.

A man of many interests, Don was an avid fisherman, finding solace and excitement in the tranquil waters of his favorite fishing spots. His hands were rarely still, as he was often found in his workshop, meticulously rebuilding antique mowers, a hobby that showcased his incredible mechanical ingenuity. Don's love for Western movies was well-known to all his family and friends.

Above all, Don was a family man. His happiest moments were those spent surrounded by his children and grandchildren, whose lives he enriched with his loving guidance and his unique sense of humor. He was the heart of family gatherings, and his stories and laughter will be deeply missed.

As we bid farewell to Don, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of simple pleasures. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
