Janet Elaine Morse

Janet Elaine Morse, known as Janet, passed away on July 21, 2026, in Greenville, South Carolina, at the age of 90.

She was born on November 1, 1935, in Cobleskill, New York, to Daniel “Gould” Meade and Olive Minnie Meade. 

Janet was the wife of Samuel Schrom to whom she was married for 40 years until his passing in 1995. Together they shared three beautiful children; Sandra Brown and her husband Ed Brown, Jeff Schrom and his wife Linda Schrom, and Susan Huygen and her husband Christian Huygen. She married a second time to the late Howard Morse.

Janet was also a sister to Larry Meade and his wife Diane Meade, Bernard Meade and his wife Vickie Meade, and Nancy Wright and her husband Arthur Wright. She had many nieces and nephews, 

Janet was blessed with seven grandchildren; Michael Brown and his wife Carly, Danielle Schrom, Nathaniel Huygen, Joseph Huygen, Shane Berson, Dylan Huygen, and Meghan Huygen as well as two great grandchildren; Aubrey and Parker Brown, who brought light and joy to her later years.

Janet worked with dedication throughout her life. Her career included service as an insurance broker for Allen Noblet Agency, sales work in jewelry for Lord and Taylor, and administrative work for an accounting firm. In every role, she was known for her professionalism, reliability, and ability to connect with others. 

Outside of work, Janet enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life rich and memorable. She loved bowling and golf, and she appreciated the companionship and fellowship she found as a member of Pebble Creek Baptist Church. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she drew strength and comfort from her church community. 

There will be a family gathering in Rochester, NY on September 21, 2026 at White Haven Memorial Cemetery from 11am to 12pm followed by her burial.
