Janie Arlene McDonald, fondly known to many as "Ardie," passed away on April 16, 2026. Born on September 12, 1956, Ardie touched the lives of those around her with her warmth, humor, and deep faith.

Ardie was a woman of remarkable entrepreneurial spirit, having owned and operated bars that became cherished local gathering places. Her keen sense of business was matched only by her ability to bring joy and laughter to those who visited her establishments.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Ardie found great pleasure in simple yet meaningful activities. She loved going to the beach, where she could find peace and renewal in the beauty of nature. Driving her Mercedes was a source of freedom and enjoyment, and she had a passion for shopping that brought her delight.

Ardie's personality was defined by her wit, her faith-filled outlook on life, and her caring thoughtfulness. She faced life’s challenges with strength and grace, always keeping her sense of humor close at hand. Her faith sustained her and inspired all who knew her to approach life with hope and kindness.

She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Earlene McWhite, her nephew, Alan McWhite, and three great nephews, who carry forward her memory in their hearts. Ardie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Woodrow and Irene McDonald.

A memorial service to celebrate Ardie’s life will be held on April 25, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Cremation Society of South Carolina - Westville Funerals, located at 6010 White Horse Road in Greenville, South Carolina.

Janie Arlene McDonald’s life was a testament to joy, faith, and love. Her legacy endures in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
