Jason Tolly Sanders [August 12, 1974- August 17, 2025] of Hickory Tavern, South Carolina passed swiftly and peacefully after a brief illness. He leaves behind his loving wife, Susie Martin. He is survived by children; Jessica Hogan (Olivia), Tori Rozler (Kelsey), Brian Burpee, Madelynn Martin, Charlotte Gunter, and three year old Jake Sanders, three grandchildren; Scarlett Pollard, Ivy Pollard, and Henley Pollard and several aunts and uncles.
Jason was preceded in death by his mother Nancye Gayle Sanders (who spoiled him rotten), his father William Michael Finn, his uncle Bonney “Barney” Rudolph Finn and cousins Jessica Elyse Redfern and James Wyatt Bailey.
Jason was an avid outdoorsmen and spent his recent days tending to his chickens and teaching his young son the way of woods. If you knew Jason, you would never find him without an audiobook or music blasting in his ears. He left us all with music in our hearts. Jason was profoundly supported by the love from his extended family and he made friends wherever he went.
Jason was a man who lived fast and hard, trying to outrun life, only to be taken swiftly and softly into the night. If you knew him, he probably held up a mirror and showed you how magical you were. He’d pull it out of you and bring the magic to life. Always on the run, sometimes you’d have to catch him. But if you had him, you knew he was yours. For the last three years of his life, his heart belonged to Jake. May Jake never forget the magic he got from his Dad.
“I’m gon’ make it, wrong or right.
And make it through the darkest time.
And when the morning comes, you’ll see.
That all I have is God in me.
Lord give me a sign.”
