Jeffrey Scott “Jeff” Ellenburg, 64, of Piedmont, South Carolina, passed away at home on September 19, 2026. He was born in Greenville on October 19, 1961.

Jeff was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was strong-willed, fiercely loyal, and the kind of person who was always there when someone needed him, often putting the needs of others before his own. He had a generous heart and a genuine desire to help the people around him.

One of the most important parts of Jeff’s life was his sobriety. He was deeply passionate about recovery and spent years helping others find their own path to sobriety. His willingness to share his experience and support others touched many lives, and his legacy will live on in the people he helped along the way.

Jeff loved spending time fishing and could often be found enjoying the outdoors. He was also a devoted Clemson Tigers football fan and never needed much of an excuse to watch a game. More than anything, though, Jeff loved his family and the people he considered family.

Jeff was preceded in death by his son, Zachary Ellenburg; his parents, Jessie Ellenburg-Holden and James Holden; and his siblings, Rita Black, Allen Ellenburg, and Rachel Woodall.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Ellenburg; his children, Nicholas Ellenburg (Matthew) and Kimberly Ellenburg (Brian); his grandson, Dalton Threlkeld; a treasured cousin, Tina Collins Simpson; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly.

In keeping with Jeff’s wishes, his family and friends will gather privately at home at a later date to remember his life, share stories, and celebrate the person he was. Those wishing to attend are invited to contact the family for the date and location.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor Jeff’s memory to consider donating to an organization that supports addiction recovery and helps others achieve sobriety.

Jeff will be deeply missed, but his love, strong will, and willingness to help others will remain with the many people whose lives he touched.
