Jerry Lee Brown

Jerry Lee Brown, age 82, peacefully passed away October 13, 2025 in the company of his wife of 58 years, Jane.

He was born May 20, 1943, in Greenville, South Carolina, a son of the late Al A. Brown and Mary Frances Brown. Jerry was so many things to so many people; a son, brother, friend, hero, husband, father and grandfather. Jerry was one of the most kind, giving, intelligent, interesting and well-travelled man with the biggest sweet-tooth whose presence impacted everyone around him.

Jerry proudly served in the Navy for 8 years, achieving the rank of Navy Aviation Electronics Technician Petty Officer 1st Class. His military career included service in Vietnam, where he earned numerous medals, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Navy Good Conduct Medal. Jerry considered serving our country as one of his greatest achievements.

Following his distinguished military service, Jerry applied his skills acquired from the Navy to his career in computer networking and security.

In his retirement, Jerry is most known for traveling to all 50 states, and Canada, with his wife. Jerry and Jane’s adventures included camping, hiking, horse-back riding, sight-seeing numerous national parks and lots of Willie Nelson songs.

In addition to his travels, Jerry was an avid reader and enjoyed wood-working. He loved his family more than anything, especially his wife, two daughters and granddaughters, affectionately known as “his girls”. He was a devoted father not only to his own children, but to his sons-in law, whom he loved and adored as his own.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Jane; his daughters, Jennifer (Alan) Thompson, and Tracy (Chris) Rivardo; granddaughters, Hannah, Michaella and Meghan; siblings, Ellie Brown and Mike Brown; and his many nieces and nephews whom he loved.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pat Sentell, and his brother, Al Brown.

A private celebration of life will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Vets Helping Vets or Upstate Warrior Solution to support local veterans.
