Jerry Allen Powell

Jerry Allen Powell of Greenville, SC passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the age of 78. He was born in 1947 on February 17 to the late John Austin and Emily Elizabeth Powell.

Jerry graduated from Hillcrest High School (Class of 1965). He served in the Army for four years and in the National Guard Reserve for sixteen years. He was last employed by Honeywell.

He enjoyed singing and Gamecock football and loved the time spent with his family, friends, and beloved dog Bo.

Jerry is survived by his son, Patrick Powell (Dana), brother Jim Powell (Linda), nephew, Jeff Powell (Susan), granddaughter, Nicole Jones, and step-grandson Jack Gutkin. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his son, John Powell, and daughter, Stephanie Powell.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff of Richard M. Campbell Veteran’s Nursing Home and Patriot Hospice for taking such good care of Jerry.

Receiving of friends will be held in the Event Center, at the Cremation Society of SC - Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Rd, Greenville, SC 29611, on Thursday, October 23, from 5-7 PM.
