John Hinds, a beloved figure in the world of textiles and a cherished member of his family, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, at the age of 84, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on June 4, 1941, John spent his career as a dedicated sales and administrator at Mount Vernon Mills, where he was respected for his professionalism and his ability to forge lasting relationships.

John was not just known for his successful career but for the vibrant personality that endeared him to all who met him. His gentle nature, incredible smile, and encouraging spirit made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. Family and friends alike will miss his warmth and the joy he brought into their lives.

An avid golfer and skilled card player, John was a long-time member of Holly Tree Country Club, where he enjoyed many happy memories with friends. His competitive spirit and known prowess at playing cards made him a favorite among his peers as he often outsmarted even the toughest opponents.

John is survived by his loving wife, Carolynne, and a close-knit family, including his sister Margaret Ann Pritchard (Ron), his daughter Sandy Puckett Knox (Terrell), and his son Mike Hinds (Monica). He was a proud grandfather to Jay Puckett, Will Puckett (Morgan), Lexie Puckett, Alex Hinds, Emma Hinds, and Ashley Palmer, and a joyful great-grandfather to Declan Puckett. John also leaves behind cherished nieces and extended family who will remember him fondly.
