John Michael Ural, known as Johnny, a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on August 10, 2025, in Pickens, South Carolina, at the age of 74. Born on May 20, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York, he lived a life marked by love, passion, and a commitment to helping others.
Johnny devoted his professional career to the field of Physical Therapy, working at Helen Hayes Hospital, where he had the unique opportunity to collaborate with the renowned Academy Award-winning actress, Helen Hayes. His dedication to his profession not only showcased his skill and knowledge but also reflected his caring nature, as he touched the lives of many individuals through his work in rehabilitation.
He received his Associates degree, laying the foundation for a career that would greatly impact those around him. It was Johnny’s intelligence, coupled with his affection for life, that made him a beloved figure among colleagues and friends alike.
Beyond his professional achievements, Johnny was a loving man whose personality shone brightly. He had a particular passion for the New York Jets, as well as the New York Yankees, that was his favorite baseball team. He also found joy in fishing, pursuits that filled his leisure hours with happiness and laughter.
Johnny is survived by his sister, Diane Gee, married to Steven Gee; his brother, Kenneth Ural married to Doreen; and his beloved nieces and nephews: Stephanie Brown, married to Brad, Lauren Gee, Matthew Ural, and Michael Ural. He is profoundly missed by his family, who will always cherish the memories they shared with him.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Ural, whose legacy of love and kindness he carried throughout his life.
As family and friends reminisce about Johnny, they will remember a man of warmth, intelligence, and unwavering passion for life, who made a meaningful difference in the world around him. His spirit remains alive in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
